Agreement On The Conservation Of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds Upsc
Species classification: Migratory species threatened with extinction are listed in Appendix I and the parties strive to strictly protect these animals, preserve or restore the places where they live, mitigate barriers to migration and control other potentially endangering factors. Migrant species that need international cooperation or use it significantly are listed in Schedule II of the Convention. Background: World Hiking Day (WMBD) 2020 was observed on May 9, 2020. It helps raise awareness around the world about the threats posed by migratory birds, their ecological importance and the need for international cooperation to preserve them. Unlike many other agreements, AEWA has an integrated recognition of the need for conservation, including the sustainable use of migratory species. This is why it remains a very important agreement for European hunters to cooperate in the management of common migratory bird populations. The new partnership formally brings together two of the world`s largest bird education campaigns, International Migratory Bird Day (IMBD) and World Migration Day (WMBD), to strengthen the global recognition and esteem of migratory birds and to highlight the urgent need to preserve them. The agreement focuses on bird species that depend on wetlands for at least part of their life cycle and, in their migratory patterns, cross international borders. It currently comprises 254 species.
The CMS is the only UN-based intergovernmental organization in the world that has been established exclusively for the conservation and management of terrestrial, aquatic and avian gardens throughout its range. U.S. President Donald Trump has promised to begin renegotiating the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) in upcoming talks with Mexican and Canadian leaders. Trump called NAFTA ”the worst trade deal in history” and blamed it for the loss of manufacturing jobs in Rust Belt, USA. He promised to negotiate ”hard and fair” trade agreements to create more jobs in the United States than the primary goal. The Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species aims to preserve terrestrial and aquatic species and wild birds throughout their range. The CMS and related migratory bird agreements bring governments and other stakeholders together to coordinate and develop conservation policies to ensure that all airways in the world benefit from coordination mechanisms that promote soil-level cooperation between the countries concerned.
